2. Theory of Inquiry Letter

   

     2.1 Definition

          

          People see an advertisement. Then, They interested offering from the advertisement. But  the advertisement cannot explain detail about its offering. Therefore, people write letter to company for getting detail information.  the letter is usually called inquiry letter.   Inquiry letter is a letter to company or institutions to ask specific information . Specific information is used for making decision.

   2.2 Format of Inquiry letter

    Follow this format in writing a letter of inquiry :

   a. In the first paragraph, identify yourself and, if appropriate, your position, and your  institution or firm.

   b. In the second paragraph, briefly explain why you are writing and how you will use the requested information. Offer to keep the response confidential if such an offer seems reasonable.

   c. List the specific information you need. You can phrase your requests as questions or as a list of specific items of information. In either case, make each item clear and discrete.

   d. Conclude your letter by offering your reader some incentive for responding.

Dari beberapa contoh kalimat di atas, udah jelas bahwa penambahan s/es hanya terjadi dalam kalimat positif saja. Pada kalimat interrogative, jika menggunakan WH Question atau pertanyaan tersebut adalah Information Question, maka kata kerja untuk jawabannya menggunakan s/es, perhatikan :

First, I want to say thank you to Allah, who give me a time to speech in this special moment. Also to Prophet Muhammad, his families, and his friends.

The Indonesian Declaration of Independence was officially proclaimed at 10.00 a.m. sharp on Friday, August 17, 1945. The declaration marked the start of the five year diplomatic and armed-resistance of the Indonesian National Revolution, fighting against the forces of the Netherlands until the latter officially acknowledged Indonesia's independence in 1949. In 2005, the Netherlands declared that they recognized Indonesian independence is in 1945, not 1949.

Every year on 17th August, Indonesia’s celebrate the Independence Day. It’s very fun. There are a lot of contest, like Panjat Pinang. And in Istana Merdeka, they are having ceremony. May be, some of you go to have celebrate. You must be spirit in the Independence Day, you look our hero, and they are held the pass to gain freedom. And us, we’re as the student, we have to have spirit to celebrate the Independence Day. If you confess you’re Indonesia’s people, you must care about Indonesia, the Independence Day of Indonesia, and all of Indonesia you must like, because it’s your country.
